WALK IN FAITH
RE-BRANDING, MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT
Walk in Faith is a registered NPO based here in Richards Bay, South Africa. I have known Merinda (the founder) for a couple of years before eventually coming on board as a member. Before that I’d help with collections and deliveries of donations. It’s really so amazing to work with such dedicated volunteers.
By being on the board of Walk in Faith I really wanted to help as best as I could. So I offered to use my design and marketing skills to help bring in more people to help with donations.
I than suggested a re-brand to give it a fresh and modern look. I was quite lucky to have Merinda give me a freedom to the designs, marketing and social media. My brief was fairly simple, professional with turquoise and blue colors.
I wanted to capture the essence of what all these volunteers are doing. So I had to create a brand that’s bold and stands out.
These days viewers social media, especially facebook is filled with so many posts and ads. I had to carefully design ads that will stand and catch attention.
Within first week, around 30 new people liked the page and Merinda saw increase in donated goods. That really gave me the fuel to carry and think of new marketing ideas. Social media is more that just posting every once in a while it is also about engaging with your audience. Letting them in on what you do, why you do it and also what drives you. Bold images and fonts that are eye catching was defiantly working.
With regards to re design of the logo. The main icon of the name Is walking feet. As a background I incorporated a road image which represents a journey. A journey of the volunteers and journey of those being helped.
As much as this re-branding helped it shouldn’t be done too often and it shouldn’t be too far off from the original look. But it is often good to give a fresh and modern look.
